Best video editing software for Windows and MAC

Video making & editing is fun but it’s hard to decide which software to use for making your videos awesome. We know you just want to start editing videos without wasting time on installing & learning each and every tool for video editing.

We have reviewed many video editing tools and hand-picked top rated tools for beginners as well as professional video editors. This list includes software for Windows, Mac or Linux users.

I am including a list of free video editing software for PC and a separate list of paid video editing software for this Do It Yourself series. If you don’t want to download then I have another list of best cloud-based video editing tools at the end of the article.

1. Avidemux

If you are not a professional video editor, Avidemux is a good option to start with. It aims to make video editing as simple as it can but with a professional touch.

Avidemux ditches the timeline and multi-track editing features and straight away start with upload and start your editing project. You can crop, resize, add text overlays, rotate the clip and use a lot more filter options.

Wondershare Filmora is a free video editing software for PC. To start editing without much professional noise on the screen, you can select ‘Easy Mode’ and all the advanced feature will hide.

You can drag and drop your clip, select the theme for your video, add few animations and import to your laptop or directly on Youtube/Facebook.
